THE WHEAT AND THE TARES

Good Morning Family!

This year had been one of the best years of my life and one of the worst years of my life all at the same time.

At the beginning of the year, something occurred that threw me into a world wind of emotions. This caused me to take a good, long look at my walk with God. God was whispering things in my ear that were totally different from my circumstances and I was baffled.

On the other hand, great things are happening for me this year...God blessed me with a new job in the area that I wanted to work in, my family is healthy and strong, I am having sold out theater performances, I have written my first book and it is blessing lives, I am meeting new people and being exposed to new things, I have been blessed to travel, I've grown spiritually and have definitely changed for the better.

This year has been a mixture of ups and downs, highs and lows. Some days I've laughed until I cried, then on other days the pain was so intense that all I could do was cry. My prayer was a simple "Help Me Lord!"

This brings me to my point...in Matthew 13:24-30, Jesus tells the parable of a man who had planted wheat in his field. While he was asleep, his enemy came and planted tares. Now the man's servants wanted to pull up the tares, but they could not pull up the tares without pulling up the wheat as well, so the man instructed the servants to let the wheat and the tares grow together. He informed his servants that once the wheat and the tares had fully grown, then he could separate the wheat from the tares.

Family, you and I are the wheat and we have to grow in the midst of the tares. Picture yourself as wheat in the field surrounded by tares. The tares are sticking you, hurting you, but you have to focus on growing. You can't let the tares destroy you. What are the tares? The tares are the bills that we can't seem to pay; the tares are those hard-headed children that you may have; the tares may be that person who mistreats you; the tares may be your boss; the tares may be fear, loneliness, or doubt, etc. Whatever the tares are in your life...whatever you have in your life that is sticking you, poking you, making you uncomfortable, hurting your heart...know that you will overcome that problem/situation because you are wheat. God's got you!!! Remember that wheat has the ability to grow in the midst of and in spite of the tares. Please pay special attention to the word GROW. Things may be going crazy in your life right now and you may feel like giving up...don't give up...GROW! Cry if you have to but GROW! Keep growing and when it is time, God will separate you from the tares.

Remember, we are WHEAT and we will grow into the people that God has ordained us to be!!!

Quote of the Day: I am the good seed...I am wheat...and no matter how many tares are around me, I am now and will always be wheat. -- Lisa Evans-Graham
